Vintage Tamiya R/C Special Racing Buggies…

I got my Tamiya Sand Scorcher Radio Controlled Racing Buggy for Christmas in 1984. A video of the reissued kit is here-
(PS-waterproof modifications entail some silicone sealant and some non-hardening sealant…)
If Safari Charlie Gun Lube had been around in 1984, then my suspension and drive shaft universal joints would not have worn near as quickly, as one can imagine how anything oily picks up every bit of dust from a hard afternoon of running that fun car. I would hose it off, and get every thing obvious out of it, but some parts were just hard to clean. The fact that Safari Charlie Gun Lube soaks into metals, and repels dust, water, and mud would have made just my universal joints last WAY longer. My suspension components would have operated “dry”, and trash and dust would have fallen out of the suspension, instead of grinding away at my pivot points. The only plastic parts on the suspension on this car are some ball joint plates on the front suspension, everything else is metal- metal on metal. And metal on metal lubrication is what Safari Charlie Gun Lube is made for. Safari Charlie penetrates and leaves no residue- at all, none. Rain or shine, hot or cold, SCGL takes care of your metal wear issues. Now if I could keep my old school shocks from leaking…

SHOOTERS OF AMERICA

I have used Safari Charlie over the past several months and although I haven’t had many clients that decided to travel to Argentina to shoot doves this year, I can give you a report on the rental firearms I maintain for Shooters Of America. These rental guns get very heavy use on a daily basis. At first they were having me clean them once a week, and I stated out using Break Free CLP as the lubricant after they came out of the ultrasonic cleaner. Upon inspection every week the guns came back to me with very heavy carbon buildup, and dry of any lubrication. (I guess we were talking about 2-3000 rounds per week.)

When you introduced me to your Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, I decided to run the product through rental gun hell to see how it would hold up. As it turned out, although the guns seemed just as dirty as before (as would be expected with 3-4 times as many rounds fired), they were much easier to clean than before. As time went on Shooters Of America decided, in an effort to cut costs, to stop maintaining the rental guns until they started to receive complaints of malfunctions. At this point I was only cleaning and lubricating the firearms about once every 3-4 weeks with SCGL(Approximately 10-12,000 rounds). I found this pretty amazing, and even though there were some feeding issues at this point I don’t recall any broken parts or spring failures.

Fast forward another few months. In an effort to further cut costs, they decided to purchase an ultrasonic cleaner and service the guns themselves so my testing of your product came to an end at that point since I had no control over the maintenance.

Heres the part that impressed me with your product, about a month went by after my last application of your Safari Charlie product on these guns. As would be expected, the guns started to have a few feeding issues. When they went to clean the guns and removed the Safari Charlie product from the guns it only took a few weeks before they started to experience broken extractors, weak springs, and feeding problems to the extent that they had to bring the guns back to me to replace parts, and repair. Week after week the repair bill what the cleaning/lubricating bill was when they were just maintained every few weeks. They were not using Safari Charlie Gun Lubricant.

I’m a believer! They are believers! I’m back to servicing the rental guns about once every three weeks with no major problems. I think you have a winner here. By the way, it smells great also. Thanks for introducing me to your product. I’ve tried lots of different “snake oil” over the past 28 years that I have been a gunsmith, but your product really lives up to its claims.

Wing Shooting in Argentina

“Thank you, Charlie for sending your unique “all in one” gun cleaning and lubricating product. As promised, we began a demanding field test and immediately we were astonished with the results. Upon giving my staff the samples they disassembled, cleaned and lubed each gun. Unlike before, this time for both cleaning and lubricating they used the same product, Safari Charlie Gun Lube! Because it seemed most of the liquid disappeared and there was no oily residue, the staff questioned whether or not sufficient lubrication remained on the metal? The actions opened and closed very smoothly, so off to the fields went the guns, staff, and clients.

To our amazement field jamming was almost non existent and when the guns were disassembled the internal working components were much cleaner than when previous solvents and lubes were applied. There was such a difference that we were able to eliminate our routine lunchtime cleaning. After 2000+ shells shot per day per gun we meticulously inspected the internals of all guns each day and here’s where we noticed BIG differences. We didn’t find traditional gumming nor were there accumulations of dust, dirt, gun powder and or other foreign matter on metals in the working mechanisms even much less than we noticed at our lunchtime cleaning with our previously used solvents and lubricants. Cleaning and lubing was easier and could be done in ONE process!

When our shotguns were exposed to rain, water seemed to also repel from the lubricated metal. In fact, we detected NO rusting at all. As you know clients often arrive here with their own dirty and sometimes even rusty guns. Before our clients take their own guns to the fields we now suggest first cleaning/lubing their guns with Safari Charlie Gun Lube.

Safari Charlie Gun Lube far exceeded our expectations and I will recommend it to everyone.

After one season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube, and over 1 million rounds shot, our repair/replacement costs went down 83% from the tens of thousands we’ve seen annually over the last 30 years. Truly Amazing!”

Safari Charlie Gun Lube dot Net

Ask anyone, when you are in Iraq, or West Texas, the fine silted dust gets everywhere.  Everywhere.  Roll up your windows, cover up the A/C intake on your vehicle, and there is still going to be a fine film of sandy dust, everywhere. Lets look at the average firearm- There are places where there must be motion, and some sort of machined tolerances that need a tight fit. Petroleum based lubricants, when mixed with carbon fouling, dust, or dirt make a paste, or even a sort of a clay. Due to the motion of a self loading firearm, bolts and actions moving back and forth, causes the parts doing the work to wipe contaminants back and forth, absorbing oils, making the paste. Anyone who has cleaned a self loading firearm, or a revolver, knows exactly what that goo is like.
Safari Charlie Gun Lube lays down a “Molecular Cushion”, that contains no petroleum, and leaves no residue, and dust and dirt literally fall off of the treated surfaces for truly extended periods. Dirt is repelled, dust is repelled, carbon fouling is repelled, moisture is repelled. It lifts rust, copper and lead fouling. Picking up a “dry” firearm is kinda unnerving, but you will learn to love it, and heck, the citrus scent will keep your significant other from running you out of the house when you are cleaning your firearms! Go get it here!
Safari Charlie Gun Lube is based off of the legendary Houdini Locksmith Lubricant, that is the only liquid transported lubricant recommended by the major lock manufacturers in the U.S.
You will find that you will begin to use Safari Charlie Gun Lube around the house for all kinds of things, replacing many of those lubricants that are the old standbys…

Soon to be an old standby
